Internet Technology

Red Melic holds the rights to patents covering the IPREF technology. IPREF is the key technology that makes Multiprotocol Internet possible.
A non exclusive license to the patents may be obtained for a one time flat fee. There are three types of licenses. A standard commercial license is intended for commercial network equipment or services companies. A substantially less expensive version of the license is available for small entities, such as startups. There is also a more expensive version for mega cap companies that dominate the market.
A special exemption is made for open source projects that publish their code to the general public, such as Linux kernel project. These projects do not need to obtain IPREF licenses, even if used in commercial applications, provided that all code related to the patents is made available publicly. Note that not every open source copyright license makes it automatically eligible for the exemption.
